Our Human Resources team seeks a forward-thinking and enthusiastic senior or recent graduate to join our full-time paid internship program. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic HR environment while developing foundational skills in talent management, organizational support, strategy, and communications.
This internship will sit in APCO's Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities:
Support the Human Resources team across various functions, including but not limited to employee programs and data reporting, to maintain accurate employee records and databases while ensuring data confidentiality and compliance
Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in our HRIS platform VIA
Provide support to our Employee Resource Groups
Contribute to the creation of educational materials and resources for our employees
Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, digital filing, contracts/POs, and invoices
Help prepare communication materials, presentations, and reports for HR initiatives. Qualifications:
Recent college graduate or senior in class standing
Major in human resource management, business or learning technology preferred
Excellent communication/customer service skills
Collaborative team player who also can work independently and be a self-starter, take initiative, and set priorities
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information at all times
Strong attention to organizational and grammatical detail
Experience with Microsoft products preferred, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Teams
Available to work 40 hours per week
Requires US Work Authorization, unable to consider candidates with CPT/OPT/Post-OPT status
What are the core working hours and will I need to be in an office?
Our interns work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
We are committed to a hybrid and flexible working environment, and there may be days that you wish to work from home and days that we come together so that you get to explore more of our culture and meet other colleagues. You will be provided with a company laptop so that you are able to work from home and in the office easily.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship at a fixed hourly rate of $17.95.
