Job Description
The Press Operator operates a metal punch press to manufacture parts according to work orders and blueprints. This role includes tooling setup, material loading, part inspection, and accurate production tracking in NAV. The Press Operator is responsible for producing parts that meet blueprint specifications and inspection requirements.
Hours: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Hourly rate of pay: Starting at $19.25/hour plus $3.50/hour shift differential. Relevant experience may increase base pay up to $20.25/hour.
Key Responsibilities
Operate metal punch press safely and accurately
Set up tooling and load materials per specifications
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
Record production activity in NAV (shop floor system)
Assist with safe tooling removal at the end of runs
Communicate with Lead or Quality regarding discrepancies
Requirements
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to use measurement tools (or willingness to learn)
6–12 months of manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for the majority of the shift
Lift and carry materials up to 50–100 lbs occasionally; 10–16 lbs regularly
Bend, reach, and lift parts from waist to shoulder height frequently
Use hands for tool operation and press setup
Required PPE: hearing protection, eye protection, MET guard safety shoes
