Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic Position Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving all plant equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
· Trouble shoot and repair simple and complex equipment dealing with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
· Installs, programs, troubleshoots, and repairs programmable logic controllers (PLC), A/C, D/C motors and drives.
· Performs electrical wiring from low voltage through 480V 3 phase industrial systems.
· Responsible for reducing equipment downtime.
· Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production.
· Recommends and makes improvements to plant equipment.
· Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.
· Able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize plant needs.
· Must have knowledge of and compliance with applicable safety standards.
· Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. May be required to work overtime, and be on call as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field or 2-3 years previous related experience
· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes and quality standards
· Knowledge of applicable safety standards
· Resourceful, organized and efficient
· Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance
· Welding a plus
· Experience with PLC’s a plus
· Ability to operate industrial shop tools
· Ability to read a blue print and schematics
