Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Description- The job involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in students, developing IEPs/IFSPs, providing direct/indirect therapy, collaborating with teams, maintaining compliance with state/federal guidelines, and supporting educators through workshops, focusing on student growth and meeting eligibility standards for special education services. Key duties include evaluations, report writing, team participation (Child Find), and ensuring best practices for communication development within schools.
Qualifications & Skills:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Mississippi Educator License (Type 215).
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct formal and informal assessments, interpret results, and determine eligibility for services.
Intervention: Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy in individual/group settings and develop/implement IEPs/IFSPs.
Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, administrators, and other therapists on multidisciplinary teams.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (IDEA).
Screening & Support: Assist with hearing screenings and support other Child Find activities.
Professional Development: Participate in workshops, provide training, and stay current with best practices.
