Overview

This role is dependent upon the award of a contract.

GovCIO is looking for a skilled Desktop Systems Engineer at Level 2 for our upcoming NLM proposal. This position is focused on providing technical expertise and diagnosis to address challenges and maintain corporate desktops along with other small systems. This is an exciting opportunity that allows you to work remotely.

Responsibilities

Manage all facets of small systems including configuration, performance oversight, and operational tasks, drawing on robust technical experience with hardware, software, and operating system maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and configurations in an interconnected environment.

Exhibit proficiency in desktop standards, management, software deployment, systems administration, and safeguarding data integrity. As this role involves regular interaction with users at all levels and IT Service Center staff, strong interpersonal and written English communication skills are essential.

Engage in projects that may include developing or assessing desktop and network strategies and plans.

Participate in efforts to evaluate, test, and implement new technologies and methodologies, and may also lead these initiatives.

Coordinate and execute tasks alongside other system managers and government personnel.

Review and enforce approved procedures while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent expertise.

Familiarity with both Microsoft and Apple ecosystems is advantageous. Demonstrated experience with the installation and configuration of an array of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) desktop and network software and hardware utilized at NLM is required.

Certifications required: A+ certification, MCSA. MCP/MTA is required as well; alternatively, an MCSE will be accepted in lieu of an MCSA.
