Civil Engineer 5 - Industrial

CDM Smith's Industrial team is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in underground utilities, site grading, and storm water management. Your key responsibilities include:
Create and sign off on basic to highly complex engineering designs involving site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single-story structures.
Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Update design requirements as necessary.
Contribute to firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Perform other duties as required.
Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm. May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
7 years of related experience.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D.
Experience with Recap, NavisWorks and Civil design software including Storm & Sanitary Analysis, HydraFlow, HydroGraphs & Storm Sewers.
Experience managing facilities infrastructure and projects for industrial clients.

Pay range minimum: $91,478. Pay range maximum: $160,118. All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
