A Day in the Life:
The Senior Identity and Access Management Engineer will take the lead in designing, building, and documenting all essential components of Hertz's Customer Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Certificate Lifecycle Management infrastructure. This role is crucial in supporting the overall authentication and authorization framework at Hertz.
The Senior Engineer will ensure that services are uniform, adhere to established standards, and deliver consistent infrastructure outcomes. Collaborating with external partners, the Senior Engineer will provide high-quality services to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to deployment processes, including the Build and Transition phases of new initiatives with phase gate reviews for stakeholders.
Maintain expertise in current and emerging Customer IAM technologies and open system standards relevant to Hertz infrastructure.
Assume ownership of Identity and Access Management Infrastructure, driving project delivery and security management.
Provide mentorship and support to technical personnel on service design, implementation, education, and IAM service availability.
Stay informed on regional infrastructure projects to maintain effective availability and consistency globally.
Gather project/application requirements from customers and stakeholders for improved service.
Define and manage support requirements and operational infrastructure.
Develop, document, and support scripts for diverse Identity synchronization solutions.
Ensure third-party solutions comply with Hertz standards.
Report accurate and comprehensive status information to management and staff.
Sponsor and implement technology pilots to evaluate emerging technologies aligned with Hertz's goals.
Adhere to all Change and Problem management policies and procedures.
Engage in a global 7x24 support model and manage projects, tasks, and support initiatives as assigned.
Who We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
6 to 8 years of practical experience in Customer IAM production support for large-scale global environments with over 20 million users.
Extensive hands-on experience with Customer Identity Management solutions (e.g., Azure, Okta) in B2B and B2C domains.
Experience in Directory Services and familiarity with tools supporting LDAP.
Proficient in implementing audit, logging, and monitoring policies.
Experience in MFA, RBA, SSO, and Conditional Access for customer access management.
In-depth understanding of fraud prevention and identity verification algorithms.
Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) implementation and management, including Certificate Lifecycle Management.
Proficient in implementing role-based access control.
Strong scripting skills in Java are essential for this position.
Vast implementation experience with web authentication protocols like OAuth, API tokens, OpenID, SAML, and REST.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Project management experience and familiarity with global operations.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to build and maintain high levels of client trust and confidence.
A successful track record of delivering large and complex IAM projects.
Proficient in applying problem-solving methodologies to tackle challenging issues.
Empathetic understanding of customer perspectives.
The anticipated salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $160,000, with additional eligibility for annual bonuses and profit sharing. The final salary will be determined based on relevant work experience.
