Position Objective:
The Coating Operator position requires a self-starter working with minimal supervision. Work assignments will include operation of all the equipment associated with the coating area, working within written procedures, and gaining a thorough understanding of the process and its impact on other production processes. Employee must be conscientious and accurately maintain process and accountability records.
Responsibilities:
Setup and breakdown coating reactor
Operate computerized coating control system
Monitor process and react to problems
Evaluate coated product for acceptability
Complete processing records and related documentation using spreadsheet and word processor efficiently
Perform both scheduled and corrective maintenance on coaters
Operate and maintain support equipment such as dust collector, cooling system, and gas supplies
Work with management in solving equipment or processing problems
Maintain coating supply inventories
Assist in development of new products or technology
Participate in writing procedure and process documentation
Operate engine lathe, requiring standing for periods of time
Suggest process and equipment improvements
Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
Manage time effectively Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP chemical processing or vacuum coating operation (pyrolytic carbon coating especially preferred) or 2 years college course work in chemistry, math, electronics, or equivalent
Basic computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet, and electronic mail. Experience using Microsoft Windows computer operating environment including ability to navigate file structures (folders, directories, files, etc...)
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and follow written instructions
Ability to interpret and follow oral instructions
Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, and use simple math
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Able and willing to work 2nd shift
Able and willing to work overtime
Frequently lift, bend forward with and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds, and occasionally lift, bend forward with and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds
Ability to lift 20 pounds during coating reactor setup and breakdown Benefits:
