Analytical Chemist / Technician (Natural Products & Chromatography)

Highland Mushrooms LLC is seeking a motivated Analytical Technician to support research, development, and quality analysis of fungal, especially Mushroom-derived bioactive compounds.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilise sophisticated analytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) to analyse and characterise various compounds.

Prepare samples, standards, mobile phases and conduct routine chromatographic analyses.

Optimise and validate analytical methods tailored for natural products.

Demonstrate proficiency in data processing and analysis, including integration and report generation.

Expertise in extracting and purifying compounds from natural sources.

Maintain precise laboratory records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation.

Assist in scale-up studies while collaborating with research partners and external laboratories.

You will be responsible for maintaining lab equipment according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), investigating abnormal results in collaboration with a senior scientist, and ensuring calibration of instruments as per the schedule. Your role includes adhering to safety and environmental protocols, keeping the work area clean, and maintaining well-organised documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field

· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory role.

Familiarity with the extraction, and separation of compounds

· Proficient use of advanced software for data analysis and instrument management.

· Hands-on experience with HPLC or UHPLC (method execution and troubleshooting)

· Strong attention to detail, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility

· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote collaborators

Preferred (but not mandatory):

Exposure to LC–MS or working with external MS facilities

Experience with method transfer, standard preparation, or reference materials
