Overview of Data Management and Governance at Cardinal Health

The Data & Analytics Function plays a crucial role in managing the entire analytics lifecycle, which focuses on identifying, analyzing, and presenting insights to empower informed business decisions while seizing opportunities for competitive advantage. This function oversees analytic data platforms, implements reporting/business intelligence solutions, and utilizes advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Management and Governance is dedicated to guiding data assets, ensuring a robust data strategy, quality, standards, and service levels. This involves acquiring, validating, standardizing, enriching, protecting, and disseminating both structured and unstructured data for business applications. Governance establishes and upholds policies, standards, and metrics to ensure effective use of trusted data and statistical models to align with regulatory and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The Data Management and Governance Consultant will join the Digital Solutions - GMPD Data and Analytics Management team as a Data Governance Specialist. This position will act as a Data Steward and change agent, engaging closely with Data Owners, Business Stakeholders, Data Leads, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to:

Implement data governance initiatives in alignment with the Data Governance Playbook.

Collaborate with Data Owners and stakeholders to establish and meet targets for data management maturity and the data quality index.

Document and maintain data ownership, prioritization, and criticality of data elements.

Capture and maintain metadata and data lineage utilizing specialized technical tools.

Identify opportunities to enhance data quality through analysis, remediation efforts, process controls, and technological advancements.

Present findings in Working Groups and Leadership meetings for alignment and endorsement.

Create and manage current and future state data flows, identifying dependencies and integration points.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in data management, governance, healthcare, and/or supply chain preferred.

Process-oriented mindset with experience in process mapping.

Strong communication and facilitation skills for effective collaboration across varied teams and leadership levels.

Demonstrated analytical capabilities with experience in problem-solving and resolving complex issues.

Familiarity with Data Governance and Quality Technologies (SAP, Collibra, GCP, etc.) preferred.

Advanced proficiency in data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and visualization using tools like Excel, Python, SQL, and Alteryx; experience with Power-Automate and RPA tools is highly desirable.

In-depth knowledge of Cardinal Health business processes and systems is preferred.

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of Data Management Processes

Understanding of data structures and elements.

Familiarity with data management principles, metadata management, and data administration.

Ability to grasp the business context, high-level technical solutions, and related data lifecycles.

Expertise in navigating a complex data landscape for effective data gathering and analysis using key tools and systems.

Anticipated Salary Range: $80,900 - $103,950
