Job Description
Line Cook / Prep Cook Positions – MoonRidge Brew Pub
Location: 501 Bridge St, Cornell, Wisconsin 54732
Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (flexible shifts available)
About MoonRidge Brewing Company:
MoonRidge is a proud veteran-owned and operated brew pub nestled along the Chippewa River in the heart of Cornell, WI—at the crossroads of Highways 27 & 64. We craft exceptional handcrafted beers and seltzers on-site, paired with our standout homemade pizzas on unique spent-grain crusts (plus classic options), loaded with bold toppings and flavors like our signature MoonRidge Beer Sauce. Our menu features creative specialty pizzas, appetizers like Pizza Fries and Pizza Bombs, sandwiches/wraps, and more—all designed to complement our beers and bring the community together in a welcoming, family-friendly (and pet-friendly patio!) space.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and stock your station with all necessary ingredients, tools, and supplies for smooth service.
Prep high-quality ingredients daily: dough handling, chopping veggies, portioning meats, making sauces, and prepping toppings for our spent-grain and classic crust pizzas.
Cook and assemble menu items to exact standards—firing pizzas in the oven, grilling/sautéing proteins, frying appetizers, and plating everything with care and speed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout shifts; follow strict food safety and health protocols.
Assist with closing duties: breaking down stations, cleaning equipment, checking inventory, and prepping for the next day.
Work closely with the Head Chef and team to ensure consistent quality, efficient ticket times, and great guest experiences.
Pitch in on new product testing as we develop sauces and frozen pizzas—your hands-on input matters!
Qualifications We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, Pizza Cook, or similar role in a restaurant, brewpub, pizza shop, or high-volume kitchen (pizza experience is a huge plus!).
Solid skills in food prep, cooking techniques (oven work, grilling, frying), and handling fast-paced service.
Hardworking, reliable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude—ready to hustle in a small crew.
Passion for great food, especially pizza and beer-friendly pub eats, and excitement about contributing to menu innovation.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50+ lbs, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in our small-town setting.
ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred; food handler knowledge required.
Alignment with our veteran-owned values: integrity, resilience, hard work, and community focus—veterans, military families, and those who value loyalty are encouraged to apply.
What We Offer:
Competitive hourly pay starting above local averages for rural Wisconsin (based on experience; strong potential for raises with performance and as we grow).
Generous perks including free/discounted meals on shift, unlimited access to our craft beers/seltzers (enjoyed responsibly), and first dibs on tasting our sauces and future frozen pizzas.
Flexible scheduling with paid time off options to help balance life in our family-oriented community—no endless mandatory overtime without notice.
Real team impact and growth: Work directly with the Head Chef on menu execution and new product development; opportunity to advance as the kitchen and business expand (e.g., lead shifts or take on more responsibility).
Simple recognition and rewards for great work, plus a supportive, close-knit environment where your effort is seen and appreciated.
Be part of something meaningful: a veteran-owned spot building community through awesome beer, pizza, and good people in beautiful Cornell.
