Job Summary:

This position is responsible for moving products and raw materials throughout the manufacturing plant and ensuring all materials needed for fabrication jobs are available. The Manufacturing Expeditor acts as a liaison between manufacturing and purchasing, identifying and communicating any missing or incorrect materials in a timely manner. While primarily based in the manufacturing plant, this role may also support other departments such as purchasing and warehouse operations. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate a forklift to move products and materials

Review materials needed for fabrication jobs

Identify and communicate material discrepancies

Perform other manufacturing tasks as needed

Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop

Experience and Education:

Minimum - High School or GED

Minimum - 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training

Other Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and fabrication materials

Ability to operate a forklift

Mechanically inclined; ability to work with basic hand and power tools

Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch

Ability to add and subtract fractions

Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed

Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines

Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work

Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit

Observes and follows safety procedures
