Key Objectives:

To work with the Head of Communications, develop and implement press efforts for Sotheby’s in Asia.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Develop and execute media plans to maximise exposure for Sotheby’s sales, selling exhibitions and events, as well as to elevate the Company’s profile in Asia; work in coordination with specialist departments, global press offices and regional offices

Prepare press releases and social media content in English and Chinese in conjunction with designated specialist departments

Pitch stories to pan-Asia media outlets and arrange interviews for specialists

Organise press calls and events

Handle media enquiries. Monitor media coverage and provide analysis when necessary

Participate in travelling exhibitions when required

Administrative:

Facilitate logistics for all Hong Kong press events, including venue arrangement, media invitation and organising interviews

Provide administrative support to the Department

Skills / Competencies / Experience:

Strong English and Chinese writing skills is essential (native-level fluency)

Fluency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is a must

Degree holder of Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Translation or related discipline with an art background is preferred

Minimum 5 years or above of experience in media relations, corporate communications and / or copywriting. Experience in PR agency is a bonus. Preferably with art PR background

Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively with all levels and a diverse international audience

Detail-oriented and self-motivated

Able to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Candidates with less experience may be considered as Senior Communications Officer
