Network Testing Analyst

A Network Testing Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of a client's extensive global network infrastructure. This position is integral to the technical infrastructure and platforms teams, who are responsible for designing and building the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of the client's services.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and facilitate testing for wavelength and corporate services.

Utilize inventory tools to provide port assignments that will serve as demarcation for third-party vendors.

Monitor project milestones actively and address any potential roadblocks that could hinder the end-to-end testing of the services in scope.

Deliver clear and timely updates throughout the end-to-end testing process.

Coordinate remote hands and dispatch support across entire paths, directing resources to install equipment, patch, create hard loops, and troubleshoot services.

Ensure high-quality hand-offs to internal customers, engaging stakeholder organizations as necessary.

Update and maintain circuit databases along with other tools that store site information and inventory.

Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal customers and carriers.

Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating service and operational support with external vendors.

Support planned systems maintenance activities while minimizing service disruptions.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives and collaborate closely with corporate developers to enhance workflow, inventory, and provisioning systems.

Basic Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in remotely testing, troubleshooting, or activating DWDM or Data services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Telecom NOC or Test and Activation environment.

Proven experience in remotely testing, troubleshooting, and activating DWDM and Data services.

Strong knowledge in troubleshooting at layer 1 and 2, with hands-on experience managing tests using various types of test equipment (EXFO, VeEX, JDSU, etc.) and different testing methodologies (BERT, OTDR, RFC2544, etc.).

Experience managing tasks from a queue and familiarity with network inventory tools.
