Maintenance Technician Intern

The Maintenance Technician Intern position offers a fantastic opportunity for hands-on experience in our Maintenance Shop operations while accommodating students with flexible hours. You will learn how to effectively repair company equipment safely and efficiently, including performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and conducting electronic diagnostics. Throughout this internship, you will also be assigned a project to showcase your learning and present at the conclusion of your tenure. Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to future employment opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Shadow experienced team members in various roles, including Maintenance Technicians, Parts Coordinators, Supervisors, and Managers to understand shop operations.

Learn safe and effective techniques for repairing company equipment.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other breakdowns in motor trucks or related equipment.

Familiarize yourself with precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and electronic diagnostic tools.

When applicable, acquire basic welding skills and knowledge of metals needed for truck repairs.

Understand basic DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in a Diesel Truck Maintenance Degree Program.

Minimum GPA of 2.5.

Experience:

Willingness to learn Maintenance Shop Operations and complete assigned projects.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal abilities.

Work Schedule:

Shifts and hours will be determined based on scheduling needs.
