JOB SUMMARY
This position collaborates closely with customers and design teams to prioritize data and information needs. The Analyst plays a crucial role in the development and support of projects and data analysis, ensuring that decision support systems deliver the necessary information for effective business decisions. Responsibilities also include translating these requirements into actionable applications, employing suitable reporting tools, and recommending innovative techniques for analytical investigations. This role involves data source modeling, collaboration with data management teams to define operational frameworks, and ensuring the secure and precise delivery of essential knowledge and information.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and nurture internal relationships across various levels of the organization.
Provide analytical and consultative support to a diverse range of internal customer areas as well as external business partners.
Mentor less experienced colleagues on both technical and business aspects of projects and consultative work.
Determine how decision support systems meet information requirements for effective business decisions and translate those needs into applicable solutions.
Utilize extensive experience and technical knowledge to propose solutions for complex business challenges.
Lead the implementation efforts of recommended solutions.
Define issues and objectives for studies and establish the methodological and technical approach to be applied, creating new analytical methods, database designs, and performance measurements as needed.
Model data sources and flows, collaborating with data management personnel to define an operational framework that develops policies and security measures for accurate and secure information delivery.
Assist in interpreting raw data and statistical results, identifying necessary follow-up actions while preparing detailed reports or presentations of findings for various internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain complex computer programs using programming languages such as SAS, R, SQL, along with database technologies like DB2, Teradata, and Oracle.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Information Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience as determined by the company.
Preferred
Master's Degree in a related field such as Computer/Information Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Research.
EXPERIENCE
Required
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
Preferred
Demonstrated proficiency as a Decision Support Analyst or experience in a business or clinical environment utilizing technology.
SKILLS
Strong technical aptitude in mainframe, PC, and Internet-based technologies, comfortable handling extensive and complex databases.
Proficiency in third-party office and reporting products such as Microsoft Office, Business Objects, Cognos, and Enterprise Guide.
Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting findings and recommendations to senior management confidently.
