Summer Environmental Education Associate (Apple Creek YMCA)

Description

The Apple Creek YMCA is hiring a part-time summer Environmental Education Associate. Work side-by-side with Environmental Education Instructors in our Outdoor Exploration summer day camps and other summer youth programs, both at the Apple Creek YMCA and Bruce B. Purdy Nature Preserve. You'll help teach and lead children ages 3-10 through nature hikes and exploratory activities outdoors, along with games, crafts, and stories indoors. Associates also assist with caretaking duties for various program animals in the Nature Study Classroom, outdoor seasonal projects on the preserve and YMCA grounds, and seasonal family events.

This is an entry-level, summer only position ideal for people passionate about nature, the environment and being outdoors.

Requirements

Ability and desire to work with children both indoors and outdoors during summer months.

Knowledge of Wisconsin plants and animals preferred but not required.

Previous experience working with children preferred but not required.
