Integration of edge devices into RavenVolt systems (including device configuration, networking setup, data mapping, and connectivity validation)
Improve MODBUS communication integrations (RTU/TCP), including register mapping, polling strategies, reliability considerations, and troubleshooting
Partner with software engineers to align hardware interfaces, telemetry requirements, integration testing, and release coordination
Collaborate daily with a 24/7 NOC to support production monitoring, incident response, and operational escalation paths
Provide technical support to installation teams and ground crews: pre-deployment planning, commissioning assistance, and on-site/remote troubleshooting
Manage vendor relationships: hardware sourcing, technical specifications, issue resolution, lifecycle planning, and RMA processes
Ensure documentation is current and usable in the field: wiring diagrams, configuration guides, troubleshooting runbooks, and versioned release notes
Drive continuous improvement of reliability, safety, and repeatability across deployments SOFT SKILLS
Ability to communicate ideas effectively to hardware, software engineers, and field technicians
Able to work proactively and take ownership of outcomes
Able to troubleshoot systematically under time pressure and support operational needs
Comfortable working directly with vendors, field crews, and cross-functional stakeholders REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Hands-on experience with Red Lion FlexEdge (preferred) or similar edge devices
Experience deploying and supporting edge devices in real-world field environments (commissioning, remote support, failure analysis)
Solid experience with MODBUS communications (TCP and/or RTU)
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with software engineering teams on system interfaces and telemetry requirements
Comfortable operating in partnership with a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC)
Ability to support and troubleshoot with installation teams and ground crews (remote and occasional on-site support as needed)
Experience working with vendors on device selection, technical requirements, lead times, quality issues, and support escalation
Basic scripting (Python, Javascript or similar)
Familiarity with SQL query language EXTRA SKILLS (Not required, but helpful)
Experience with generator controllers (integration, telemetry, alarms, operating modes)
Experience communicating with PLCs (interface design and field troubleshooting)
Familiarity with switchgear (monitoring/telemetry, safety considerations)
Industrial networking best practices
Comfortable using GitHub and version control best practices WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
A strong hardware engineering team is built and operating with clear standards, documentation, and delivery cadence
Deployments are repeatable and reliable, with versioned configurations and field-ready procedures
Issues are resolved quickly through strong collaboration across hardware, software, the NOC, and installation teams
Vendor relationships and hardware lifecycle planning reduce downtime and improve system reliability
