Senior IT Engineer

Overview
Client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to support IT and OT infrastructure for a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. This role is focused on designing, deploying, and supporting modern infrastructure and platform solutions that enable factory operations, equipment integration, and business systems. The environment includes physical and virtual server infrastructure, VMware, Windows and Linux administration, container platforms, and emerging manufacturing automation technologies.
Core Responsibilities
Support and maintain mission-critical on-prem server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
Administer Windows Server and RHEL Linux systems in a high-availability manufacturing environment
Support VMware-based virtualization platforms including vSphere, vSAN, and related technologies
Help deploy and support Docker and Kubernetes-based application environments
Troubleshoot infrastructure and workload performance issues across virtualized and physical systems
Assist with implementation of new technology stacks and migration of workloads from physical to virtual infrastructure
Partner with internal teams and external vendors to improve performance, reliability, and fault tolerance
Participate in issue resolution, operational troubleshooting, and daily support meetings with factory systems and operations teams
Maintain alignment with corporate IT and cybersecurity standards
Document infrastructure, automation scripts, and configurations to support operational continuity Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server environments
5+ years of experience with Windows Server OS and RHEL Linux
3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or similar service management platform / methodology
3+ years of experience with VMware virtualization technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, VCF, or NSX
1+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, or configuration management tools such as Tanium, Chef, JSON, PowerShell, Ruby, or similar
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, and switching
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies
Strong documentation skills across infrastructure and system configurations Preferred Skills or Experience
Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or other OT-heavy environments
Experience with hyper-converged platforms such as Dell VxRail
Experience supporting Cisco Nexus or Catalyst networking environments
Experience with Rubrik or similar recovery platforms
Exposure to MES, SCADA, industrial network architectures, and equipment integration
Experience with Windows patching, OS hardening, and security standards
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
