The Product Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving high-quality product documentation that supports product readiness, customer adoption, and internal enablement. This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Clinical, Sales, and Support teams to ensure documentation is accurate, usable, and aligned with real-world workflows.
While documentation is the primary focus of the role, this position also supports related enablement activities such as demo readiness, testing support, and training materials to ensure products are well understood and successfully deployed.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain product documentation, including:
User guides, admin/configuration guides, and quick reference materials
Release notes and feature documentation
Internal knowledge base and enablement content
Translate complex technical and clinical workflows into clear, user-friendly documentation
Ensure documentation is accurate, version-controlled, and kept current across product releases
Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to understand feature intent, limitations, and roadmap changes
Support documentation needs for regulated environments, including traceability, review cycles, and controlled updates where applicable
Demo & Enablement Support
Assist with maintaining documentation-aligned demo workflows and scenarios
Support internal teams with product explanations and walkthrough materials
Testing & Validation Support
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and workflow validation to ensure documentation reflects actual product behavior
Help capture feedback and documentation updates resulting from testing
Training Support
Contribute to training materials for internal teams and customers
Assist with onboarding and product education sessions as needed Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product Management to align documentation with product strategy and releases
Partner with Engineering and QA to validate product behavior and edge cases
Support Sales, Clinical, and Support teams with clear, accurate product content Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technical writing, product documentation, healthcare IT, or a related field
2+ years relevant experience
Strong written communication skills with demonstrated experience producing technical documentation
Ability to understand software workflows and explain them clearly to diverse audiences
Strong attention to detail and comfort working across multiple teams and priorities Preferred Qualifications
Experience documenting software products in healthcare IT, medical imaging, or regulated environments
Familiarity with documentation tools, content management systems, or knowledge bases
Exposure to software testing concepts (UAT, validation, traceability)
Experience supporting demos or training materials
