ISG is looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our experienced engineering team to enhance our already strong capabilities and be primarily focused on ISG's Food + Industrial, K12, and Commercial Business Units. This role provides immense opportunities to learn and strengthen skills, lead, and mentor others with the development and design of our projects.
Team members you may work closely with are Tony Effenberger PE, Mechanical Engineering Practice Group Leader and Austin Eigenberg, Graduate Engineer. As key members of the Mechanical Engineering service, they work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop creative solutions.
Essential Duties
Design, specification and analyze mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, and fire protection
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other internal teams to integrate mechanical systems into building designs
Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling to ensure system efficiency, safety, and compliance with codes and standards
Plan, produce and quality control design and documentation
Be responsible for production of construction documents and administration for projects
Evaluation of existing mechanical and plumbing systems
Report preparation and presentation to clients
Project development and project management
Coordination with design and drafting staff for production deadlines and quality assurance

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of professional HVAC and Plumbing design experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to be licensed
Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of the design standards and codes for vertical infrastructure design
A high level of technical and organizational skill accompanied by strong oral and written communication
Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
Ability to collaborate and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams
Working knowledge of software (AutoCAD MEP, Trane Trace, BlueBeam, Speclink, Microsoft Office), Revit MEP, preferred ISG Employee Owner Benefits
