The Solutions Design Engineer is responsible for supporting and leading new business processes, managing costing and implementation strategies, and developing optimal technical solutions for the organization. They will lead a wide range of mid-level to complex projects and guide operations leaders to success. This position will interact with customers to meet requirements and develop proposals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist business development process in RFP responses (solution concept and design)

Scope projects, exceed customer needs and optimize existing activities

Analyze activities and needs assessments to achieve quantifiable results and meet ODW’s business objectives

Review labor performance, reporting methods, forecasts, systems, procedures and customer data to meet customer’s objectives

Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluate cost factors for new plans

Collaborate with internal departments and industry vendors to create cutting-edge fulfillment concepts

Develop strategic short- and long-term plans for resource requirements including space, labor and equipment

Oversee project completion and performance, including targeted budgetary spending and ROI

Produce and maintain CAD layouts of new design concepts

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, industrial engineering, or equivalent education/work experience preferred

Previous experience working in a 3PL environment Required

3+ years of experience working as an industrial engineer for a Third-Party Logistics Provider preferred

Prior experience in Lean / ISO and completing pricing/costing activities in an operational setting preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and AutoCAD preferred Capabilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortability speaking, presenting and interacting with internal employees and customer teams

Prioritization and organization skills

Strong planning and time-management skills

Entrepreneurial spirit and possesses the ability to grow Physical & Mental Requirements
