30+ bed, single room NICU

Sees everything except hearts

30+ bed, mostly single room Step Down Unit

Very modest case load

NNPs provide rotating coverage to both NICU as well as Step Down

Shifts are rotating Days (10s) and Nights (15s) with shared Weekends and Holidays

Multiple NNPs on duty

No NNP transport responsibility

There is a delivery service but NNPs do not currently attend deliveries

However, the plan is to incorporate those who wish to do so

NNPs develop their own Care Plans and see patients from Admission to Discharge

Strong LIII+ or LIV NICU experience strongly preferred

Masters degree preferred but will consider experienced NNPs without (who are eligible to be GrandFather’d by Ohio State Board of Nursing) on a case-by-case basis

NCC required (or eligible)

People who “get involved” vs who just do shifts and go home

Education, committees, etc.

Aesthetically beautiful unit – only 6 years old

New grad orientation is 12 weeks in length and Days only for first 6 months!

Six weeks in NICU and six weeks in Step Down
