The ALM Finance Planning and Analysis team is seeking a results-oriented, accountable, and highly dependable candidate with strong leadership capabilities. The team holds key responsibilities for the internal management reporting of domestic general account investment results and maintains controllership responsibilities within the group.

The Associate Manager, Planning and Analysis is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and reliable financial management information. The role focuses on the operation, enhancement, and oversight of reporting systems that facilitate the production of management information. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and providing clear commentary on variances. The incumbent is expected to have strong knowledge of day-to-day product or process activities, with the ability to resolve routine issues independently and seek input for resolving complex matters.

This position may involve oversight of a small team or key process, with full ownership of multiple processes, reports, procedures, or products. The role is considered an analytical or procedural expert, representing their unit or team on cross-functional process or project deliverables. A solid understanding of the supported businesses and relevant industry experience is expected.

What you'll do:

Preparing the quarterly investment forecast

Analyzing both actual and forecasted results

Presenting analysis to key stakeholders such as Business Unit Finance teams, the CIO organization, and Senior Management

Focusing analysis on drivers impacting invested asset balances and investment income (e.g., market rates/spreads, business cash flows, portfolio asset mix, derivative instruments)

Maintaining a strong control environment to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reported results

Delivering clear, insightful analysis to communicate the underlying story to stakeholders

Additional responsibilities include partnering with CIO portfolio management teams to deepen understanding of investment portfolio activities and strategies, developing analytical models, and preparing ad hoc analyses for senior management.

Undergraduate or Master’s degree in accounting or finance

CPA or CFA designation preferred; MBA is a plus

Strong background in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting

Solid understanding of investment securities and related accounting

Experience with STAT accounting is a plus

Reliable, accountable, and able to work under tight deadlines

Effective collaborator and team player

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Displays leadership and talent management awareness

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $89,000.00 to $147,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
