The PMS450 program is focused on acquiring and managing resources for research, development, design, construction, and testing of new attack submarines. Your role is crucial in supporting Navy operations and ensuring the safety of our sailors.
Responsibilities
Support the development and maintenance of design standards for Submarine Fly-By-Wire and Ship Control Systems.
Respond to design, operation, and maintenance inquiries related to Submarine Fly-By-Wire and Ship Control Systems.
Define and implement control system architectures, including steering and diving systems.
Collect and analyze fleet feedback to assess system performance and maintenance needs.
Examine factors influencing system performance and create electrical engineering guidelines for command and field operations.
Oversee technical and design requirements for submarine shipbuilding initiatives.
Quickly assess technical issues impacting construction and promote effective communication for rapid resolutions.
Ensure thorough understanding among all stakeholders regarding the scope and potential impact of technical issues on construction timelines.
Facilitate swift approval processes for addressing technical challenges and inspire timely resolutions.
Collaborate across departments to efficiently solve technical problems.
Drive continuous improvement through proactive change management and clear communications.
Integrate digital tools to improve communication and enhance efficiency in production tracking.
Foster effective communication between shipbuilders and the government to swiftly resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
An active or current DoD Secret clearance.
U.S. Citizenship.
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including project or program management.
Strong command of electrical engineering principles as they apply to naval vessels and submarines.
Experience with U.S. Navy Submarine Fly-By-Wire and Ship Control Systems.
Outstanding communication and analytical skills.
The ability to facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders.
A proactive mindset with strong adaptability in time-sensitive situations.
Experience mentoring junior team members and building a cohesive team environment.
