Research unpaid and denied insurance claims to facilitate the processing of claims and receipt of payments from insurance companies.
Maintenance of accurate patient and insurance data, i.e., medical records, explanation of benefits, demographics, etc.
Secures needed medial documentation required or requested to ensure account resolution.
Monitor claims for missing information, authorization/control numbers.
Submission of letters of appeal on denied insurance claims, completing adjustments and working series accounts.
Interacts with staff and customers to research and resolve less complex problems/issues.
Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPPA.
Pull and review files on delinquent accounts for contract and contact information.
Place telephone calls to collect payment on delinquent accounts.
Update customer payment methods to keep account current.
Attend weekly meetings with resolution on the accounts assigned.
Handle special tasks, administrative projects and additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Effectively manage all facets of billing & collections and ensure timely cash flow.
