OBJECTIVE:

To obtain a position that will allow me to use my cross over training in GIS and draw on my vast experience within the civil engineering and surveying industries.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY:

Twenty+ years of CAD and design experience in the Civil Engineering field working predominantly, but not exclusively for private developer, local government agencies and national agencies. Projects include city, county, petrochemical and some overseas countries, whereby the use of metric units were necessary. Primary CAD software used is AutoCAD being up to date with the latest versions, Civil 3D 2010 and 2011 and also Map 3D 2010 and 2011. Microstation was primarily used in the petrochemical field. Up to date with the latest technology including 3D modeling, GIS and the use of Autodesk WS website for uploading production documents for review and mobile review.

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:

Developed and implemented drafting policies; managed cad operators / design drafters as a lead, checking all project work; improved overall products for accuracy and constructability; maintained, repaired and built electronic equipment (computers) including plotters and printers for production use; researched, evaluated and recommended production and office software; installed, implemented and launched upgrades and updates; maintained backup systems, e-mail system, various servers and requested support from outside IT companies after diagnosis of problems; created and developed intranet and maintained internet web presents; researched and recommended office equipment including copy machines, wide format scanner, printer/plotter and implemented accounting software for same; coached and taught cad operators, design drafters, as well as gave guidance requested from graduate engineers and EIT’s in Civil engineering basic’s.

Mapping Experience

• Created a GIS mapping division.

• Created and built an 87 square mile GIS map for a Drainage control government entity.

• Acquired all available public data, compiled all public data into a geodatabase, created feature classes of all government facilities with data attached and imported to the geodatabase.

• Prepared agenda maps for projection viewing during monthly governmental meetings.

Civil Experience

• 3D modeling of regional stormwater detention ponds and commercial site plan developments including stormwater layouts.

• Municipal utility district and private developer subdivisions, including wastewater sewer system, stormwater sewer systems, stormwater detention ponds, water distribution systems, street paving and if necessary wastewater treatment facilities and water plant facilities; roadway production of municipal utility district major thoroughfares, city and county road projects.

• HCTRA and TxDOT projects.

• Stormwater drainage improvement production of channel alignment, channel realignment, erosion prevention, bank re-establishment, bank repair, regional stormwater detention ponds, diversion structures, environmental impact studies prior to natural creek adjustments.

• Commercial site plan production; platting, calculation and layout of wastewater sewer system, stormwater sewer system, water distribution system and paving facilities.

• Survey production of boundary, form and final surveys for single lots, large acre boundary and topo surveys, roadway surveys with modeling.

• Petrochemical site work production, mass excavation, site drainage, railway layout, concrete and steel.
