Component Engineer

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Function as liaison with customers regarding technical material requirements.

• Perform technical reviews of customer approved vendor lists (AVL's) and manage required changes using Agile.

• Identify potential suppliers, part nomenclatures and commodity codes based on parametric part description.

• Perform review of BOMs for RoHS/WEEE compliance and REACH legislation.

• Perform trade-off analysis of components and suppliers.

• Recommend procurement flexibility options.

• Assess potential component life cycle issues and declining technologies.

• Identify alternate components/suppliers for reduction of materials cost and replacement of obsolete components.

• Qualify new components.

Other duties include the recommendation of optimum component technologies to fit the application, the development of component strategies for usage across work location, and coordination of component engineering activity for design or special projects.

Functional Test Technician (From 1994-1997)

• Directed and coordinated electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipments, and control devices required to test, telemeter, and record data.

• Interfered and conferred with scientific, engineer, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.

• Trained and instructed floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and software, as well as proper solving techniques.

• Resolved test yield problems by performing analysis of root cause, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
