Responsibilities:

Monitor applications, systems, servers and customer equipment in the Data Center using industry standard monitoring tools and manual observation. Initiate, document, escalate and resolves issues in the incident, problem, change and knowledge management systems. Responsible for initiating corrective action for any system or job application failures after thoroughly investigating the situation. Complete documentation including shift turnover with accurate and comprehensive information complying with Computer Operations QA policies. Implement, monitor, and manage the execution and restart of automated job streams in conjunction with On-Call staff. Escalate all non-solvable issues to the appropriate organization, following escalation procedures. Monitor back-up/restore capability and facilitates off-site storage processes and operate as subject matter expert for business continuity exercises. Observe, control and analyze all computer systems and peripheral equipment under the Command Center domain for the purpose of uninterrupted data processing. This includes enforcing change protocol, monitoring systems for errors or malfunctions, data center security and environmental disruptions. Also responsible for initiating corrective action to problems and applying proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve malfunctions.

Migration of system changes with the use of Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Ipswitch WS-FTP, Remote Desktop and Borland Star Team. Provide off hours support for all data migration needs, assist in development of procedural documentation, interact with development and system administration groups, assist Technical Lead in the effort to transition new applications to the Migration Control team. Create and maintain scripts in order to automate the migration of code.

Responsibilities include managing the nightshift operations of a global multi-site 24x7 Data Center. Monitoring and controlling environmental, systems and networks within the IT Shared Services Data Centers. Monitoring and creation of System Change Controls, documentation and Run Sheets that impact the Operations Control Center and its staff. Monitor client websites, network, environment and Voice Response Units, with the use of Mercury Topaz, NetIQ, TeaLeaf, Netmonitor, Netmastr, Netview, SiteScan, IntellaScan and Hammer. The Data Center consists of MVS, VM, UNIX, Novell, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 equipment. Monitor LAN backups via Tivoli Storage Management, ARCserveIT, ARCserve Brightstor, Omniback, Legato and EMC Data Manager. Fix failed Windows and UNIX backups by correcting hardware or software issues. Mainframe responsibilities consist of Daily and Weekly production and backups for MVS z/OS and VM systems. Maintain STK 4410 Library Storage Modules, STK 4480 tape drive and IBM 3420 tape drive. Create and manage Sev1 to Sev5 Peregrine tickets for unscheduled outages. Install and remove servers and their peripherals.
