PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

I am currently living in New Berlin, Wisconsin with my wife and daughter of 14. I also have a son who is 22. I was raised on a farm in the small town of Elizabeth, Illinois. After graduating high school I then moved into the Chicago area where I pursued a machining career. In 1990 I took a job making drill bits where I learned the basics of a shop, reading measuring tools, operating small equipment, and the responsibility of maintaining production and quality. Through the years I moved on to better jobs so that I could expand my skills and knowledge in the machining background. At one point in my life my machining career was sidetracked so that I could pursue a job in carpentry and become self employed. After some time I decided that carpentry was not for me, although I did not have any regrets because working with my hands and creating something, whether from wood or metal, was very rewarding to me. I have gone back into machining, which is where I truly want to be. I have learned much over the years and as you will find in this resume I do have the skills and drive that it takes to get the job done.

MACHINIST

My skills include various shop duties, such as the set-up and programming of prototype and production runs. I have worked with many different material types, such as plastics, stainless steel, castings, steel, aluminum, etc. I am experienced with Master Cam 9.1 3D programming and design. Also with fanuc and G&M codes. I often work with blueprint specs sent via email, such as DXF, IGES, SAT, Para solids, etc. My software abilities include the drawing and programming of 2D and 3D wire frame and surface models for creating toolpaths. I am familiar in working with close tolerances and also include the design and manufacturing of tooling for specific jobs, as well as selecting and ordering perishable tooling to be used. I am currently the Shop Manager and am in charge of all incoming and outgoing work. My duties include maintaining the production of The Vertical and Horizontal Mills and all employees as well as maintaining a safe, productive and quality shop.

CARPENTRY

My skills as a carpenter and remodeler have been learned over the years as more of a hobby. In July 2002 I had the opportunity to become self-employed and be a sub-contractor at a large rental community, which consisted of the demo and rehab of 2 and 3 bedroom town homes and over 120 apartments. My duties for each unit included demo and replacing everything except the carpet and paint. I was also required to do basic electrical, such as changing switches and outlets and rewiring to add GFI outlets and switches for disposals. I did the rough framing for rooms and built the walls. I have also remodeled basements, kitchens and bathrooms for residential customers. I have also learned basic plumbing, such as installing and sweating water lines for sinks, showers and toilets.

OBJECTIVE

My goal is to join a company in which I can build a long term career with. I am a very hardworking and dedicated employee. I look forward to bringing my skills to a company that will use them to their fullest potential, while also learning new skills along the way.
