1. What are your expectations of this job?
I am expecting that I will be helping assist with animals in a medical environment. I will be lifting and handling animals that might be under stress. I will be cleaning up after procedures and will be keeping kennels clean for a sanitary environment. I also am expecting that I will have to interact with the animal’s owners. I will be working as a team member with the doctor and the rest of the staff.
2. For applicants who are currently employed elsewhere. Why are you looking for another position?

3. How did you get along with your previous employer?
We could talk easily and had a mutual respect for each other. We were both hard working, compassionate people.
Your fellow employees?
I worked well with fellow employees; we gave each other tips on how to do well in the field and were loyal on not overstepping boundaries with each other business connections
If you had any differences with them, how did you or would you go about resolving those differences?
If I had differences with fellow employees, I would ask them if we could talk and discuss the differences in a room with some privacy and we would take care of it, get each others views think about it and go on.
4. How long are you willing to commit to this job?
I am willing to commit to this job indefinitely

5. What are your professional goals for the next 1-2 years? The next 5 years?
The first 1-year is to get certified to become a veterinary assistant. The 2 – 5 years get on the path to become a vet tech.
6 .Has your employment with another employer ever been terminated and if so, what were the circumstances that led to your discharge?
I have never been terminated.
7. You will be expected to lift squirming animals. Would you have any problems lifting a 40-pound animal onto an examination table?
I could lift a 40-pound animal onto an examination table.
8. Do you have any allergies to animal hair, cat dander, pesticides, chemicals or other items frequently found in a veterinary hospital?
I have no allergies.
9. Our employees usually start work promptly at 8:00 am and because of unforeseen emergencies may have to assist with emergency cases after the usual 6:00 pm closing time. Will this pose any special hardship for you?
Getting to work promptly by 8:00 am will not pose any hardship for me. I can also be available for emergency situations. I live 3.6 miles from the clinic.
10. All employees are expected to work some weekend and holiday hours .Will this pose a special problem for you?
Weekend and holiday hours will not pose any special hard ship for me.
11. Tell me about some of the animals you currently own or have owned in the recent past and your experiences with other veterinarians?
I currently own a Chihuahua. I have owned cats, dogs, birds and rabbits. I have also owned horses and cows. I work with horse currently. I have had experiences with veterinarians by them helping me with my animals. I know how to give shots to my personal animals on my farm. I know how to worm them, clean and dress awound, bandage, and remove sutures. I have breed horses and dogs. I have watched foals be born and make sure the placenta was intact and completely discarded I had the veterinarian test blood results and check to make sure everything was o.k. with mare and foal. I have helped a foal to approach and take its first milk from its mother.

12.What tasks do you find stimulating or challenging?
I like to observe and access a problem and strive to understand a solution.
13 What would your last supervisor tell me about you as a worker and a person?
My last supervisor would tell you that I am a self-starter with great people skills and compassion.
14.How would he or she describe your strengths and weaknesses?
She would say my strengths are my people skills and my weakness is sometimes I overwork

16. How do you think your experiences fit with the job being offered?
Well I have a lot of experience with animals so I know how to read them and handle them. I also have worked as a dental assistant. I know how to remove sutures. Blood does not bother me. I have taken x-rays of the human mouth under a doctor’s supervision. I was called upon to use aseptic technique during dental procedures.
I am compassionate. I have done marketing and sales. My people skills will your clients at your clinic.
17. What are your greatest strengths?
I have two kinds of strengths. I have people skills. I also have a strengthen in being able to observe animals, and strive to understand what the problem is.
18. What are your greatest weaknesses?
Sometimes I tend to overwork.
19. What are you doing to overcome your weakness?
I am striving to have a work life balance.
20. How do you react when someone criticizes you?
By keeping an open mind and having a willingness to learn.

21. What kind of skill do you think you learn best?
First, by observing the animal’s behavior, then by bonding with the animal, I use this information and relationship to assist the healing process.

I focus on one task at a time.

I have the ability to work in both team environments or alone.
24. Why do you think you would be successful in this job?
I can provide compassionate care for pets.
I am licensed to take x-rays of the human mouth under the supervision of a Dentist.
The job of Kennel assistant is a match with my skills and my interests.
This job is congruent with who I am and my history.
25. What do you think are the most effective ways to motivate people?
Knowledge is the door to lead people to higher understanding and correct decision making. This process has the potential of lessening confusion and self-doubt.
26. What will you be looking for in this job that was not present in your last one?
I will be enjoying hands-on touch with animals, working in a clinical environment and working with a team.
27. What is the best way of handling problems in the job?
First understand your job description.
Second, have a practice of asking questions, when you are unsure of any situation.
Third, remember who the correct sources are for clarification.
Fourth, remember the mission of the company in your dealing with the Doctors, the staff, the clients and the animals.
28.Why do your want to work in a veterinarian hospital?
To promote the health and healing of animals.
To promote the Veterian’s business.
To have a good report with the surrounding community.
29. If you get this job, how will you want me to assist you in your work?
Desire for more training opportunities and further certifications.
30. What is the one thing you would like most in your next job – aside form compensation and challenge?
Working with animals.

31.What are your hobbies?
Trainging horses, I have done this all of my life. I always go back to it. I am in my element with horses. Hiking, gardening, dancing, reading and cooking. Being outside in the mountains or at the beach or just taking a walk in the neighborhood in the fresh morning air.

Skunks
33. Which animals do you prefer to work with?
Dogs
34. If a client comes into the hospital for a refill on ear medication and states that he/she will not pay it because he/she does not feel enough was sent home (although the appropriate amount was) how do you handle the situation?
Be calm ask them if he/she would like to have a seat. Let he/she know it will be a few minutes. Let them know it is the Doctors decision. If the Doctor is not available, let he/she know the Doctor will get back to them as soon as possible. Will not promise the Doctor will do anything. Have the Doctor deal with it.
35. If a client called to ask a question about the care of a pet and you are not certain of the answer, how do you respond?
Doctor can call them and give them a consultation. May use standing advise.
36.A client was told their pet would be ready to go home by 4:30. When the client arrived at 4:30, the pet was not ready. What do you tell this client?
I will inquire why the animal is not ready. Let them know what the current stasis of the animal is. Apologize on behalf of the clinic.
37. A client calls with a life-threatening
emergency. What do you tell the client?
Call 911
38.Do you advise a client if you know of a competitor’s hospital? Which is close to them? No.
