• Consolidated and migrated over twenty data centers and data rooms and their associated applications throughout my career.
• Virtualized 95% of data center operations for LPS Real Estate Group. The program began with a physical server and storage infrastructure with over 700 servers.
• Reduced data operations cost by $2,100,000 annually while providing additional services and uptime.
• Consulted on a $400M+ data center migration project for a large financial services company. Responsible for planning and sequencing the migration of over 6,000 physical and virtual servers to their new facility.
• Consolidated data operations from four Fidelity National Financial production data centers to a single data center. The project migrated four hosted application operations from Atlanta Georgia, Dallas Texas, Honolulu Hawaii, and Santa Ana California to a newly constructed hardened data center in Chicago Illinois. This consolidation reduced company operational expenses by over $7,100,000 annually.
• Successfully managed multiple P&Ls. Increasing profitability by reducing cost and improving efficiency. In one instance taking an unprofitable services and consulting P&L and turning it into a 20% pretax profitable winner in 4 months.
• Consolidated a systems maintenance operation from 60+ branch offices to a central logistics management operation. This consolidation project was completed in 6 months resulting in an annual savings of over $5,000,000. The savings were derived from efficiencies gained in parts returns to OEM and the reduction of distributed logistics staff.
• Successfully completed a data center migration for Duke Energy Field Services. The project consisted of a complete data center move and upgrade. The upgrade tripled the existing floor space allowing for growth of the clients business technology. The move was completed in a single weekend resulting in zero unscheduled down time. The project was completed on time and on budget.
• Managed four separate Cisco VOIP installations replacing existing systems all producing cost reductions and greater capability.
• Designed and implemented a desktop services help desk at multiple Fortune 500 clients. For example at Centura Health this type of project addressed desk side support, software support, maintenance, desktop installation, move, add, and change support. This program directly resulted in desktop issue resolution time being reduced from 10 business hours to 2 business hours. The client saved an estimated 19,000 labor hours annually.
• Negotiated and implemented a systems rollout for Manpower’s 1,800+ North American locations. This project encompassed installing over 7,200 desktop and server systems to Manpower’s North American offices. We managed all aspects of the project including build to order systems, software image design and testing, system imaging, systems installation, cabling installation, communications installation, client orientation and training, and post installation maintenance. We also completely redesigned the client’s existing help desk to ingrate with vendor support and handle the newly deployed systems. The project reduced the client’s operating cost by $400,000 annually.
