May 2002 Clinical Trial of Lamivudine (GlaxoSmithKline) in Children with Chronic Hepatitis B
• Children with chronic hepatitis B were randomly assigned in 2:1 ratio to receive either oral (3 mg per kg of body weight; maximum 100 mg) or placebo once daily for 52 weeks
• Primary end point was virologic response (designed by the absence of serum hepatitis B e antigen and serum HBV DNA) at week 52 of treatment
