Operations Manager
• Responsible and accountable for the highest standards of safety and the efficient and profitable operation of the plant by creating a well motivated and highly trained Operations team, to work effectively in a commercial environment.
• Responsible for ensuring that all legal, environmental, health and safety standards are met by implementing the appropriate engineering codes and procedures.
• Responsible for implementation of plant operational procedures.
• Responsible for the implementation of emergency procedures and ensuring that there is adequate resource to deal with such situations.
• Accountable for compliance with environmental emission limits.
• Responsible for managing the fuel management system and inventory.
• Responsible for preparation and monitoring of the RPPL budget for fuel, chemical, water and import energy.
• Responsible for leading the national team for the operations of combined cycle 450 MW Rousch Power Plant so as to run the plant safely, reliably and cost effectively to achieve its goals and objectives.
• Involved in dealing with WAPDA/NPCC regarding PPA, System Operating Procedures and ADC tests etc. Also, I am a member of Rousch – WAPDA operating committee.
• Involved in dealing with SNGPL regarding the day to day operations and maintenance issues under GSA. I am also member of Rousch-SNGPL coordination committee.
• Involved in managing the ‘Long Term Maintenance and Service (LTMSA)’ Agreement with Siemens.
• Involved in managing the ‘Operations and Maintenance’ Contract with RPPL.
• I was chairman of ESBI-Rousch HS&E Committee, leading ESBI team on Safety front.
• Leading the team dedicated for the evaluation of Complex performance and generation for monthly performance review and reporting.
• Involved in providing presentation of Complex Performance to owner’s representatives during Monthly Performance Review Meetings.

Shift Charge Engineer (SCE)
• Prior to the commercial operation date (COD December 1999), the main responsibilities were to lead the shift operations team during pre-commissioning, cold commissioning and commissioning activities of the Rousch Power Plant. The other responsibilities were:
• Leading the shift operations staff for normal operations, startup, shutdown and emergency scenarios.
• Involved in the Reliable Test Run (RTR), Initial Dependable Capacity (IDC) and Annual Dependable Capacity (ADC) tests of the Complex.
• Writing and reviewing the Plant Operating Procedures.
• Planning and scheduling the plant shutdown for routine washing outages, minor and major outages of the complex.
• Troubleshooting of the Plant and to raise the fault conditions to the concerned maintenance sections.
• Supervision of the “ Plant routine checks and operations routines”
• Preparation of Monthly Plant Performance Reports.
• Act as Senior Authorized Person (SAP), Control Person and Safety Coordinator for PTW (permit to work) system.
• Fire & Emergency Response Team Leader
• Authorized to deal with NPCC (National Power Control Center - Islamabad) for switching and commercial operations.
• Provided effective training to a team of Process Operators.
