Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency

800 North Capitol Street NW, WDC 20002

Supervisory Community Supervision Officer , 101

For the past 7 years, I supervised 1 Assistant, and 5 to 9 Diagnostic Community Supervision Officers who developed and submitted pre/post-sentence investigation reports to the judiciary of the DC Superior Court to assist with rendering sentencing for offenders. I reviewed, evaluated, and edited pre/post-sentence reports for application of appropriate legal codes, rules, and statutes to offenses, social history content, criminal history record entries and dispositions, correct scoring of the criminal record, and grammatical accuracy.

I was the DC Sentencing Commission Liaison and arranged yearly training for Branch Staff to apprise staff of Sentencing amendments, and the applications of new statutes, regulations, and codes to old and new offenses.

Voluntarily designed an electronic evaluation tool to provide cumulative evaluations of Diagnostic staff to determine at any point in the performance rating period staff's weak and strength areas to develop training programs to enhance their skills or exact corrective actions to ensure staff is in alignment with the Branch, Division, and Agency's strategic goals and missions.

Assisted with designing new annual appraisal tool for the Branch, which was approved for IT development; and the Agency's Performance Appraisal tool (served on the Performance Appraisal Planning Group Committee - assisted in the development of the concepts, principles, and performance-based standards to identify sets of critical duties and competencies performed in positions as they relate to the Agency's goals and critical success factors), which is currently being used Agency wide to appraise staff's mid-year and annual performance.

I assisted in developing the Operations Manual for the Branch, which is now Chapter 4 of the Agency's Operations Manual. I co-designed/modified the electronic Investigation module for maintaining pre-sentence report case data entries, tracking, and repository for Agency's staff, judicial staff of DC Superior Court and AUSA staff of the Department of Justice report retrieval purposes. The new module is in IT developmental status.

I designed Team Performance Plans, which outlined my staff's performance goals, target dates, expectations and strategies in submitting diagnostic reports. I provided monthly statistical reports on team work functions as it related to the Branch, Division, and Agency's operations and strategic planning functions. I reviewed statistical reports of the Office of Research and Evaluation produced to determine if team goals were met.
