Career History

Owner/Executive Consultant, JSM Risk Analytics LLC, 2010 to Present. Launched specialty consulting company, providing property casualty insurance advice/counsel to schools, insurance companies and insurance agents.

VP Sales, Payne Financial Group, 2001 to 2010. Recruited to grow commercial insurance firm’s account base in the Rocky Mountain and PNW regions. Secured dozens of new customer accounts, launched new business lines, tapped new niches and opened sales office in Boise, playing key role in division’s growth to $80M. Managed up to 17 people.

Sales Executive, Hoiness Labar Insurance of Wyoming, 1997 to 2001. Selected by $85M firm to turn around sluggish sales region encompassing Rocky Mountain states. Serving as both Sales Executive and Commercial Underwriter, built multi-million dollar revenue stream from scratch. Oversaw five-person team.

Regional Marketing Manager, United States Fidelity & Guaranty, Inc., 1988 to 1997. After initial recruitment by $1.6B company as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, quickly advanced on merit through more senior individual contributor roles to Small Business Marketing Manager and RMM. Managed up to 25 personnel and $11M budget.

Outside interests include snow skiing, whitewater kayaking, fly fishing, cycling and camping. I am also very active in community and charitable organizations including Big Brothers/Sisters, Idaho Botanical Garden and Boise River Park.
