2010 - Current - Balfour Beatty -Tower Crane Operative / Banksman Slinger
My job role consists of working on the refurbishment of Blackfriars Bridge. I am responsible for liaising with the marine watchman to ensure that any lifting of materials is carried out in line with health & safety legislation, and that the waterway is clear prior and during any lifts. I also liaised with other operatives including Steel fixers. My job also includes ensuring that I carry out lifting inspections on a weekly basis. Other duties include lifting materials such as platforms, tracks and glass off the barges. I am also responsible for fitting new glass into the structure of the new glass. I also ensure i adhere to Current Health & safety legislation of the whole infrastructure of the working area.
2007 -2010 - HTC - Royal London Hospital - Tower Crane Operative
I worked as a Tower crane operative on the a complete new build of Phase one of the Royal London Hospital, my responsibilities included working with pilers, form work and tables. I also worked with climbing tower cranes. Our work involved corresponding with the Air ambulance service to ensure any flight route was safe at all times.During this time the company worked with innovative materials such as slides for the lift shafts.
2003-2007- HTC - The Heart- Tower Crane Operative
This job was a multi crane job which involved the building of a new shopping complex as well as apartments and flats. The work involved form work, slides, glass installation and erecting and dismantling tower cranes.
