• Carried the Creative Services department from a $35,000 deficit (May 2001) to $656,000 profit (May 2008).

• Overhauled web sites to include our new corporate identity/branding mandate. Project included direction of web designers and programmers, quality control of content, creation of site map and constant testing of site to ensure smooth access across all platforms. Supervision of external design resources and the internal creative department. Creative department was responsible for designing all corporate branded marketing materials for KFI, its subsidiaries including the internet, multi-media, advertisements, presentations, tradeshows and additional collateral.

• Performed an in-depth cost analysis of print-costs, resulting in an overall reduction in print costs of 35%.

• Oversaw training, supervising and evaluating creative personnel

• Coordinated with marketing/product managers to develop creative execution in accordance with marketing plans, briefs and corporate identity

• Introduced a “Graphics Standards Manual” that could be accessed via KFI’s intranet worldwide to handle specifications queries from employees.

• Implemented a job-tracking database, which automatically generates bid requests, shipping orders etc. Besides being an excellent source of back information, it reduced implementation time and eliminated duplication of effort.

• Created multi-media give-aways resulting in a much higher profile for KFI’s subsidiary FutureStep whilst adding a new, inexpensive advertising vehicle.

• Converted the creative department from Mac to PC resulting in several thousands of dollars in on-going savings, improved technical support from the IT department with no loss of productivity.

• Oversaw day-to-day marketing requirements for the worldwide Reserve Asset Management Group (RAMG), which at the time, had $14 billion dollars under management.

• Created new marketing materials resulting in winning a $3 billion dollar account

Assistant Graphics Services Manager

• Designed multi-media interactive presentations and collateral pieces aimed specifically at foreign markets. This resulted in the wins of several large accounts in the Asia/Pacific region necessitating opening an office in Tokyo.

• Introduced multi-media presentations and taught key people how to use the software and equipment resulting in winning a large high-profile client away from another much larger advertising agency.

Unocal Corporation (Oil & Gas Industry) • 1989 – June 1992 • Graphic Design Consultant—Freelance Onsite

• Conceived and designed an easy-to-use GUI database for accessing and filtering huge amounts of information on hazardous and extremely hazardous materials. The database also kept track of all materials stored on the premises (Unocal Oil Refinery at Wilmington Harbor), their locations, levels, MSDS and emergency procedures along with the exact locations, history and features of all safety equipment.

• Instituted and implemented digitizing thousands of stored blueprints. The ‘instant retrieval’ resulted in a huge decrease (measured in minutes) of time spent in an emergency situation (spill or toxic release).

• Trained administrative staff in the use of a PC based form/database program. Allowing them to create and use electronic forms. This resulted in a time saved, increased productivity and an overall streamlining of processes.
