I worked as a housekeeper at Young Families Early Head Start. My duties included cleaning all restrooms, classrooms, vacuuming the facility and general cleaning. I was entrusted with a set of keys to the entire building, and I worked independently, and I was responsible to set the alarm and lock the main doors. I held this position for a year and a half.

I worked in the child watch program at the YMCA working with children ages 8 weeks to 12 years.

My days were usually split in half. Mornings with the infants and younger kids, and my afternoons with the older children. My duties included feeding and changing babies, putting them to sleep and playing with them. When I worked with the older children I prepared and gave them their meals, I played with them, read to them and helped them learn to grow. I worked with children at the YMCA until December of 2007, after which I left for school.

I work as a server at The Grand Garden Chinese restaurant. I am responsible for taking customer’s orders, food prep and serving my customers. I am also responsible for bussing and cleaning tables. When my shift is over I have assigned duties such as cleaning and prepping for the next day, cleaning the restrooms, or cleaning the lobby. I have worked at the restaurant from September or 2007 to December 2007. I left for six months for school, but began working at The Grand Garden again in July 2008.

I work for the children's pastor at my local church. I assist him in any area he needs, from computer work and cleaning to teaching the children in Sunday school. My heart is for children, so I enjoy this job greatly. He offered me this job because he felt that I was the adequate person for the position. He saw my heart for children, and my willingness to serve when I volunteered at the church. Working there has increased my knowledge in teaching children, spending time with them, loving them, and working hard.
