Embedding and cutting routine specimens, biopsies, bone marrow biopsies, bone

marrow clots and cellblocks.

Special Stains using Dako Artisan and manual special staining.

Make special stain reagents and making sure they are properly labeled and not expired.

Loading specimens and cellblocks and gel blocks using Leica Peloris

Frozen Sections

Train Newly hired Histotechs

File and count blocks.

On call rotations.

Troubleshooting.

Histology Technician, Loma Linda University Medical Center 03/04 - 08/09

Resposible for counting, taking blocks out of the VIP processor and logging the

amount of blocks for the day on the block count form.

Immunohistochemistry every other two weeks including distribution of the IP

stained slides, maintenance of the Benchmark XTs, validations of the antibodies,

reagents and antibody inventory.

Make solutions and titrations for IP staining.

Stain Immunofluorescent slides for the EM department.

Train newly hired histotechs.

Sign cases out

Change reagents on the Leica Autostainer and the reagent in the special stain area

on my rotation.

Cover front desk, troubleshooting and distribute slides to the pathologists.

On-call rotaion every third week.
