2004 – 2011: Bureau Chief, Economic Crimes, South Florida Region. Headed two civil litigation divisions of
attorneys, investigators and support staff for the Economic Crimes Division for the South Florida Region.
Primary focus of practice was the enforcement of Florida’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, a
consumer protection statute patterned after the Federal Trade Commission Act.
1994 – 2004: Assistant Attorney General, Senior Assistant Attorney General, Economic Crimes Division. Duties
included the investigation and prosecution of civil enforcement actions relating to the Florida RICO
(Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization) Act and the Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

Major Cases:
Office of the Attorney General v. Countrywide Financial Corporation. Led team in civil prosecution relating to
home mortgage underwriting guidelines of one of the nation’s largest lenders. The suit resulted in a $150
million foreclosure relief program for the people of the State of Florida and the establishment of a $4 million
grant to the Florida Bar Foundation. Said grant funded Legal Aid attorney positions for foreclosure defense
statewide.
Office of the Attorney General v. Intracoastal Health Systems, Inc., et al. Cy Pres action successful in preventing
the closure of St. Mary’s Hospital, an acute care safety net medical center located in Palm Beach County,
Florida. State v. Kathleen Bush. Cross-designated as Assistant State Attorney co-counsel for high profile
prosecution of Defendant Kathleen Bush in case of aggravated child abuse involving Munchausen Syndrome By
Proxy behavior. Defendant was convicted on all counts. Also represented DCF in termination of parental rights
action against the parents.
