Dear Hiring Manager,
My training in the airline business offers much to a company that seeks motivated customer service individuals in its in-flight department. I have more than two years of experience as a crew member on an EMB-145. After a year and half with the company, I was given the unique opportunity to become a check air man. As a check airman, I have had the opportunity to train new flight attendants on the aircraft and to verify that they are ready to be on the aircraft solo. I also have twenty two years in the medical field. I am eager to put my solid work experience in the position of flight attendant with your company.
During this time as a flight attendant, I have had many passengers, as well as several mainline employees, or co-workers write positive notes to my company about my professionalism, positive attitude& conscientious to their needs. I average approximately 1 to 2 comment cards a month. On the left side of my resume, you can see quotes from those positive notes. Upon a personal interview, I can produce copies of these comments.
I realize my time in the airline business has been short, but I have many years of medical training, community involvement and working with the general public of all ages. All my training I have received in the airline business as well as my past experiences has helped with remaining calm/cool headed for three emergency diversions in flight, dealing with medical problems on my aircraft, and handling my passengers with respect on delays during flights, on ground stops or diversions due to weather conditions. On my own, for special holidays, I have handed out to my passengers, silk rose buds for Mothers Day, Chocolate Kisses on Valentines are a few examples I have initiated. In addition to this, I carry in my crew bag, a Crossword puzzle book, Sudoku puzzle book, and a Find A Word book in which I tear out pages and hand to my unaccompanied minor or to my passengers on the plane due to any delay that will help pass their time by. Toward the end of my flights, I go through the cabin of the aircraft and try to thank each and every passenger for being on my flight. As you can see, I am about my passengers and customer service is very important to me. With out my passengers I would not have a job.
Thank you in advance for taking the time out of your busy schedule to review the attached resume. I would like a personal meeting to discuss my qualifications, the opportunity to demonstrate that I am a fast learner, responsible and a hard worker. I would like to be considered for a flight attendant position at which someone of my background could make a contribution. Should you require any additional information, I can be reached at 314-***-****. I look forward to hearing a favorable response in regards to a personal meeting in the near future.
Sincerely,
Opal A. Combs
