Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM)
Thesis entitled:
“Body, Mind, Breath: An Integrative Approach to Three Treasures of Chinese Medicine; Tiger Qigong, Acupuncture and Shang Hanlun Herbal Formulas”
Focuses While Attending NCNM:
-Classical Chinese Diagnosis, including tongue and pulse, smell, visual and auditory diagnosis as defined by the ancient Chinese classical texts.
-Customizing Qi Gong with Classical Chinese herbal formula and acupuncture point protocols in an integrative approach.
-Shang Han Lun classical Chinese herbal formulas according to pulse diagnosis under the tutelage of Arnaud Versluys Ph.D (received PhD in China)
Internal Martial Arts Experience
As a 7 year lineage student of Master Zhongxian Wu I have attended approximately 10 week long intensive trainings as well as numerous weekend and day long trainings. These intensive sessions focus on:
- Mt. Emeii Zhen Gong Qi Gong (Tiger, five dragon seated and standing forms, fire dragon, three sources qi gong, five elements qi gong, microcosmic orbit, tendon and joint qi gong as well as many other forms both sitting and standing)
-Qi Gong Healing (Shamanic external transmission qi healing)
-Wudang Tai Ji Quan 75 movement hand form, Wudang staff form and sword form
-Dai Family Xin Yi Quan
-Ba Gua Zheng
-Classical Chinese Calligraphy and healing through use of Fu or Shamanic Symbols
-Yi Jing Divination and Healing
-Chinese Astrology and it’s healing application
-Shamanic Internal Alchemy
2 month long Qi Gong retreats in China:
-2005 studying the Si Shi Si – Jin jing gong 14 movement form under the tutelage of Master Wang Qingyu
-2007 With Master Zhongxian Wu, focus on Yi Jing divination science and Wudang sword and hand form
Both China trips focused on training Qi Gong practitioners as teachers.
Teaching Experience:
While living in Portland, Oregon I taught both Tai Chi and Qi Gong private lessons as well as regular weekly classes held in Alberta Park, The Bamboo Grove (art studio, martial arts space), and the Peaceful Soul (yoga studio) for the three years. I have also been traveling extensively throughout the country teaching private lessons as one of Master Wu’s senior students.
Other Experience
Extensive meditation including: Zazen Buddhist meditation under the tutelage of Joseph Germana,Ph.D a student of Shunryu Suzuki (San Francisco Zen Center- founder).
Daoist internal alchemy meditation in the Emei Zhen gong and shamanic traditions.
Yin Yoga practitioner
