Senior Technical Officer (Class I) - Project for Supporting Infrastructure Maintenance to Reduce Rural Poverty (Japanese Fund for Poverty Reduction/ Administrated by Asian Development Bank)/ Rural Infrastructure Maintenance Division (Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation & Agrarian Development, North Western Province, Sri Lanka.

i. Designing and estimation on prior maintenance needs identified and preparation of work plans,

particularly covering the aspects of ground & surface water management, catchments & cascade development of Minor Irrigation Schemes based on new concept of Participatory approach/ process.

ii. Assisting the Project Implementation Unit/ Rural Infrastructure Maintenance Division for periodic technical supervision of construction part and to effect payments. And also rebuilding of community based organizations through training & awareness programs.

iii. To deal with caretakers appointed for infrastructure maintenance of Minor Irrigation Schemes and Rural Roads.

(10) OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:-

i. I have gained experience over a period of 28 Years in a wide range of activities, pertaining to rural infrastructure development, particularly aimed at reduction of poverty through small scale village level minor irrigation & ground water resources managed related projects. And also I have gained a thorough knowledge of community training.

ii. I have 25 yrs. experience in large scale tank bund construction, turf installation and maintenance of minor irrigation reservoir dams, their structures and land protection structures through the community participatory approach.

iii. Central control knowledge of ground water management, land management, minor irrigation tank cascade systems & technical support for maintenance of rural infrastructure.

iv. Digital Poster Presenter of River Symposium-2009 held in Brisbane, Australia.
