Objective:
It is my desire to be a part of this all-encompassing world that had prompted me to seek a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. And I look to further enhancing my knowledge, where I will be able to obtain experience in the field and utilize my technical, problem solving skills and knowledge and in due course establish myself as a credible authority in this field.
Education:
• Florida International University, Miami, Florida (USA)
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Fall 2010 – Spring 2012
Course: CAD, Advanced Robotics, FEM, Computational Fluid Dynamics,
GPA: 3.4
• NDMVPS’s College of Engineering, Nasik, Maharashtra (India)
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, July 2003 – July 2008
Professional Experience:
• Production Engineer – Reliable Autotech Pvt. Ltd. (Nasik, India), 07/2008 – 10/2009
Designated as a Production Engineer at Reliable Autotech Pvt. Ltd. (Plant II) of Reliable Group of Industries, Nasik, India.
The company is a long time supplier/vendor for world renowned companies in India and abroad as well, which includes our customers such as Mahindra & Mahindra, John Deere, Volkswagen, Bentley, etc. My duties as a production engineer were to complete the production on time as per schedule, to minimize the number of monthly rejections, to maintain OEE (overall equipment efficiency) to 85% and to close the NCs (Non-conformity) using 8D module (8 Disciplines). During my tenure of work, I undertook number of small projects and have completed successfully.
• Math Tutor – South Dade Senior High School (Homestead, FL), 10/2010 – 04/2012
Tutoring for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students on Mathematics
Projects:
Title: Automation of a Spot Welding Machine
Successfully completed during the final year of BE. The main purpose of this project was to increase the rate of production (from 13 secs/job to 8 secs/job) and improve the quality of the weld. Eventually the rate of rejection was also reduced considerably
Title: SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies)
Project was undertaken during my tenure in Reliable Autotech. The aim of this project was to reduce the average setting time of Dies on the machines (which was 15-16 mins before SMED) to bring down to single digit i.e., below 10 mins. The project was completed effectively in 3 months and as on today the average setting time of Dies is 9 mins. The added advantage of this project was improved 5S (area cleanliness), reduced machine idol time and increased OEE.
Software:
Pro-Engineering (Wild fire 2.0)
Autocad-2008
Fact Sage 5.5
Microsoft office 2010
SAP-ABAP (Basic)
Extra Curriculum:
• I have been an integral part of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education)
• I was an active member of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) India
