Project: Light-Induced Stress Leads to Cytoskeletal Reorganization in the Retina
Objective:Examination of serine/threonine protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A nitration) and
phosphorylation involvement in the process of light-induced cytoskeletal reorganization by vimentin modification.
Worked on a team of 2 graduate students and 6 undergraduate students.
Performed in vitro cell cultures and immunocyto chemistry on ARPE-19 cells
Analyzed western blots performed on cells and interpreted the effects of oxidative stress induced cytoskeletal reorganization and apoptosis on ARPE-19 cells.
Currently working on formulating a correlation between NO/iNOS nitration, PP2A phosphorylation, and apoptosis.
