Minor, 2001-2003, Scientific English, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
University of Delaware, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Analytical Division
Research Assistant
• Systematically studied on the structure and backbone dynamics of HIV-1 Capsid (CA) protein using 2D, 3D homo- and hetero- nuclear correlation spectra with MAS solid-state and solution NMR.
• Developed an imaging method for characterizing various morphologies of HIV-1 CA protein assemblies with confocal microscope.
• Proficient in expression, purification and characterization of protein samples.
• Involved in the work of improving low-E probe performance on high salt concentration samples.
Teaching Assistant
• Gave lab sessions on chemistry lessons at various levels, e.g. Chem 101, Chemistry lessons for nurse major, Analytical Chemistry for honor students etc.
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Research Center for Environmental and Ecology Sciences
Research Assistant
• Prepared and characterized the Pd catalysts derived from MgAl hydrotalcite precursors for total oxidation of propane using IR, TG etc.
• Evaluated several catalyst systems for improving the three-way catalysts performance at automobile idle speed state employing GC-MS, IR and other techniques.
Tsinghua University
Visiting Student
• Used high through-put screening methods to separate and purify chemical constituents from the rhizome of Arundina graminifolia (mainly used column chromatography and HPLC).
• Utilized NMR, MS, and IR spectroscopy to characterize the structures of the purified compounds. We discovered two novel compounds from the derived substances.
