________________________________________ Projects Title: Patient temperature monitoring using I2C protocol

Description:

The main objective of the project entitled Patient Temperature Monitoring Using I2C Protocol is to develop a device which can be placed on a patient to continuously measure and transmit information regarding the body temperature.I2C protocol has been used for temperature measurement and storage. The stored data is displayed on LCD and transmitted to personal computer.

The system consist of Microcontroller, Temperature sensor, Real Time Clock, EEPROM, Display Unit and Personal Computer. The Keil software is used to program microcontroller P89V51RD2.The Microcontroller acts as a bus master which initiates the communication and reads the data from Temperature Sensor DS1621 and Real Time Clock DS1307 using I2C protocol. The temperature data is processed and stored in EEPROM AT24C32 for backup and sent to LCD for display. A buzzer is used to alert the concerned person when the temperature exceeds the set point. The Microcontroller is also interfaced to personal computer via max232 to store the data in EXCEL format, which can be used by doctors for future usage.
