TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER / SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Software & System Engineering / Agile Software Development / Data & Network Security / IT / TQM / Training

Database & Network Administration / System Design & Administration / Business Continuity / Documentation

A proven team leader and broad-based technician, I consistently deliver successful projects across multiple functions to enhance day-to-day productivity and service quality. Experienced in a range of business environments/industry niches, I have maximized the satisfaction of internal and external customers year after year. Key capabilities include:

Simultaneously achieving outstanding results in multiple projects

Optimizing IT security to meet stringent compliance requirements

Streamlining technical operations to eliminate needless costs

Building/leading superior technical teams to exceed objectives

In addition to MS and BS degrees in Computer Science from UNLV, I will earn a Masters in MIS from Auburn University in 2012. Effective at applying new and emerging technologies to solve tough business problems, I offer a firm grounding in multiple languages, platforms, tools and operating systems (complete list available).

Distinctive Accomplishments

Significantly reduced project costs. Expenses for $5M QinetiQ-NA data-conversion project were expected to run 50% over budget, delaying completion by several weeks. Streamlined the labor-intensive process of converting 2.2 million hard-copy pages to digital format, saving 5000 worker hours. Finished project 14 days ahead of schedule.

Enhanced success of key project. US Army had contracted with QinetiQ-NA to design a simulation that would quickly predict the impact of bio-chemical warfare agents in a large urban setting. Initiated significant upgrade, expanding the program to multiple servers/distributed processing to enable 85% increase in simulation capacity.

Directed development of industry-leading technology. Client of UNLV’s Cybermedia Research/InfoSecurity division required a specially adapted JPG image to boost product market share. Innovated permanent method for embedding encrypted data/encoding watermarks into a JPG image, increasing product marketability 15+%.

Improved competitiveness of major product. Customers interested in QinetiQ-NA’s ERS 2.6 product needed a version that immediately met new DoD compliance standards. Quickly designed an updated ERS version, meeting all customer requirements. ERS 2.7 is projected to significantly increase QinetiQ’s overall market presence.

Corrected critical flaw in key client-server system. QinetiQ-NA client, Nevada Test Site (NTS), had to meet a minimum DOE hardware/software standard for medical record search system consisting of 8.9 Tb of data. Initiated key client-server upgrade, correcting all deficiencies and enabling NTS to fulfill new DOE requirements.
