Major Career Accomplishments:

• Developed systems for enhanced and timely financial reporting for Electro-Mechanical Corporation’s transformer division, which included the consolidated results for Federal Pacific and M.A.F.E.S.A. This has facilitated the rapid delivery of preliminary financial results to senior management, and has allowed for “tightening up” the time frame for each month-end close.

• Developed and utilized new Cost Accounting system at Virginia House Furniture that greatly increased accuracy of product costing and facilitated timely production reporting and integration with general financial reports.

• When Crown Column & Millwork lost its controller, spear-headed implementation of WAN, which permitted full access from Marion, VA, to Crown’s financial and accounting systems in Gadsden, AL. Facilitated effective “long-distance” management and postponed indefinitely the need for a new on-site controller at Crown.

• Responsible for implementation of LAN at Harris-Tarkett, and participation in WAN with other Tarkett Sommer companies worldwide.

• Successfully implemented new systems for General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, and Manufacturing cost applications at Harris-Tarkett.

• Facilitated seamless integration of PCs with centralized IBM AS/400 computer for information sharing and data collection at Virginia House Furniture.

Software Exposure:

• Proficient with Windows 7/Vista/Windows XP/Mac OSX operating systems; Microsoft Office 2007, 2003, 2011 (Mac) - Excel, Word, Power Point; numerous other software applications, including accounting and tax.

Annual sales in excess of $55 million; and Crown Column & Millwork, LLC, Gadsden, AL, a start-up company just three years earlier, quickly positioning itself as the third largest decorative column manufacturer in the U.S., with annual sales near $12 Million, and over 150 employees. Responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting for these companies, including Delivery of timely Consolidated Financial Reports for senior management, Direct Interaction with Lending Facilities, ABL Cash Management, Budgeting. Managed a team of twelve accounting professionals and personnel at both companies.

1998 – 2002 Harris-Tarkett, Inc., Johnson City, Tennessee

Vice President- Finance: Senior Financial /Information Technology Manager for two hardwood flooring manufacturing companies (North American Hardwood Division of Domco-Tarkett, Inc.) employing 900 people, with five manufacturing facilities in four states. Annual sales of $130 million. Strategic planning for and direct control over all areas of Hardwood Division finances. Directly Responsible for Financial Reporting, Multi-Company Consolidation, Information Systems, Credit Policies and Collections, Cash Flow Management, Financial Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Payroll Administration, Risk Management Program. Managed a team of sixteen accounting professionals and personnel in five offices.
